Junior (Ages 6-15) Learn to Sail Programs

Sailing is a terrific sport and at Kanata Sailing Club we have programs specifically designed for children and younger teens.

Our programs focus on teaching the basic skills of sailing in a safe and controlled environment. But we add a healthy dose of fun to make each class a great experience for the participants.

Sail Canada certified instructors will teach participants all they need to know to be able to handle a small dinghy in light to medium strength winds using KSC’s fleet of kid-friendly training boats.

This program teaches to the Sail Canada CanSail Level 1 and 2 standard. For more information on what your young sailor will learn, click here.

Special registration fee discounts apply for your kids if you are also enrolled in one of our Adult Learn-to-Sail programs.

Here’s another great option:
Kanata Sailing Club runs sailing programs on behalf of our friends at YMCA/YWCA Camp Otonabee – that’s the camp right next door to us.

These programs are open to kids aged 10-13 years and are run by KSC’s own Sail Canada certified instructors using KSC’s boats right here at KSC. These are all day programs which run Monday through Friday.

There are four programs running this summer:
July 23 — July 27
July 30 — August 3
August 13 – August 17
August 20 – August 24
