Adult and Youth (16+) Learn to Sail Programs

Never sailed before and want to try it?  Maybe you sailed years ago and want to get back into the sport?  Or did you recently buy a cottage and it came with a sailboat sitting upside down on the dock?

If so, then you will want to enroll in one of our Adult Learn to Sail Programs this season!

Our Sail Canada certified instructors will teach you all you need to know to be able to handle a  dinghy on your own in light to medium strength winds using KSC’s fleet of easy-to-sail training boats.

Providing over 35 hours of instruction, you’ll get more training than at any other similar program offered in the Ottawa area.

PLUS: the enrollment fee includes a one year membership at KSC, which will let you use the club’s fleet of dinghies any time you want following the completion of the program at no additional cost! If two adults in the same family enroll, the enrollment fee includes a free family membership.

This program teaches to the Sail Canada CanSail Level 1 and 2 standard.  For more information on what you’ll learn, click here.

  • Written training materials produced by Sail Canada are recommended but not required. These are available at a cost of $21 plus HST.  One copy may be shared among students in the same family or group.
  • Cancellation policy: You may cancel and receive a full refund (excluding book purchase) at any time up to the start of the second class of your program.  We regret we cannot offer refunds after that time except in the case of family emergency or serious personal illness or injury in which case refunds will be pro-rated and subject to a $50 cancellation fee.
