It is either for social members or new members who have not taken one of the qualification steps below.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Yellow tag:<\/strong> Meant for junior sailors (at least 12yo) as part of a family membership to take out <a href=\"https:\/\/kanatasailingclub.com\/staging\/sailing\/fleet\/laser\/\" data-type=\"page\" data-id=\"500\">lasers <\/a>and <a href=\"https:\/\/kanatasailingclub.com\/staging\/sailing\/fleet\/byte-cii\/\" data-type=\"page\" data-id=\"2370\">bytes <\/a>by themselves with adult supervision.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Blue tag:<\/strong> Roughly equivalent to the Canadian Yachting Association&#8217;s CAN Sail 2 level. In order to qualify for a blue tag, a sailor must take a checkout by one of our trainers. A blue tag skipper is entitled to use all <a href=\"https:\/\/kanatasailingclub.com\/staging\/sailing\/fleet\/\" data-type=\"page\" data-id=\"22\">club boats<\/a> with the exception of catamarans.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Green tag:<\/strong> Experienced monohull sailors with their blue tags can take an upgrade course to qualify for their green tag. A green tag skipper can take out the <a href=\"https:\/\/kanatasailingclub.com\/staging\/sailing\/fleet\/rs-cat\/\" data-type=\"page\" data-id=\"3098\">RS Cat 16 <\/a>catamarans. This is a stepping stone to getting a red tag.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Red tag:<\/strong> Experienced green tag sailors can take an upgrade course to qualify for their red tag.
